Chris Spears-Bartunek, MS, LMHC

Chris Spears-Bartunek is a licensed mental health counselor and a certified health coach through the National Society of Health Coaches. She has 16 years of experience providing mental health treatment for individuals of all ages. Since 1998 Chris has specialized in eating disorders and weight management.
Health coaching urges the individual to take action on the goals which they’ve identified are important to them. Together we ask, ‘What are the beliefs and challenges that are keeping me stuck?’ I find that while some of life’s major changes call for major leaps, many are comprised of a number of smaller steps.
Kathryn Reed, MS, CN
Director of Nutrition & Co-Founder
Kathryn Reed received her Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University. She has expertise in the design of corporate nutrition programs and in weight management for individuals. She has worked with organizations such as Sodexho, Regence Blue Shield, Amgen, Premera Blue Cross and the Seattle Athletic Club to improve individual and corporate health and productivity. She has been with Sound Health Connects since 2008.
There are many paths to healthier eating. I enjoy partnering with clients as they discover a path that works for them — a path that can be simple, delicious, and as convenient as possible.
Beth Rock
Director of Operations & Co-Founder
With 15 years of office management experience, Beth is responsible for the day-to-day business operations for all Sound Health locations. She has a BS degree in Communications with a minor in Business Management from Arizona State Univ. and has been with SHC since 2009.
It’s great being part of a mission that makes a difference in people’s lives and also part of a team of such dedicated individuals. I especially enjoy my role in the recruiting, selecting, orienting and training of employees and in developing with them the opportunities for their growth.
Kirsten Parks
Client Care Manager
Kirsten has been with Sound Health Connects as Enrollment Manager since 2015. She continues to manage the enrollment process and now also serves as the Client Care Manager. She works closely with clients to make sure their administrative needs are handled smoothly in their program. She completed her B.A. in Communications from the University of Washington. She lives in Edmonds, WA with her husband, two kids, and dog and enjoys reading, traveling and gardening.
Jeff Brugger, BS
Certified Personal Trainer
Jeff Brugger holds a degree in Exercise Sciences and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. Jeff has spent most of his 21 years in the industry working in corporate wellness and weight management. He has helped to instill his philosophy of functional training in corporations such as Microsoft , Amgen and Starbucks. Jeff started at Sound Health Connects in 1998.
My focus is not only on weight loss, it’s also on improving the body’s ability to perform the movements we use in everyday life. Developing dynamic strength, flexibility and agility carries over into our daily activities, making life easier, more enjoyable and more productive.
Jill Von Buskirk
Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer
Beginning her career in 2008 as a group fitness instructor, Jill quickly went on to become a Certified Personal Trainer through ACE and also holds a certification in Sports and Fitness Nutrition. While managing a local gym that specialized in HIIT classes and one on one training Jill began working as a CPT with Sound Health Connect in 2021. Shortly after she took on the additional role as Health Coach working closely with clients to set and achieve both short and long term goals. Her passion for health and the practice of self care are emphasized by her optimism and enthusiasm for each individual she works with.
I’m passionate about fitness and helping people feel better about themselves and their ability to move through everyday life. No matter where you’ve been or where you are on your journey, if you’re still breathing there’s still time.
Elizabeth Davis
Certified Personal Trainer
Elizabeth Davis is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has an extensive background in Pilates, which she studied at Potsdam University while obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. She believes that health and wellness is not just about building and maintaining a strong body, but also building and maintaining a strong mindset – which is something that she says often in her client sessions. She also believes in providing her clients with an educational approach to fitness, and is currently pursuing an advanced specialization, also through NASM, to become a Certified Stretching and Flexibility Coach.
My goal is to help empower each of my clients to become the very best version of themselves by educating them on not just how to move their bodies to improve their health, but also why effective movement and utilization of the “right muscles at the right time” – even in just our everyday lives – is so important when it comes to overall lifestyle and longevity.
Stacie Bliss, LMHC, CTNC
Program Specialist
Stacie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach through the Institute of Transformational Nutrition. She has over 16 years of experience providing counseling and coaching for clients who hope to improve their health and feel more balanced overall. Her approach is to draw from each client’s strengths and inner wisdom to help them align their daily habits with their deeper values and purpose. She has been part of the Sound Health Connects team since October 2022.
Donnae Ward, MSN
Certified Nutritionist
Donnae is originally from the Bahamas and has a passion for all things related to wellness. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Wellness, a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, and a Masters of Science in Nutrition. She is a Certified Wellness Practitioner, Educator and Personal Trainer. She is also a certified Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach. She loves cooking, dancing, traveling and being a mother to her toddler Ali. Donnae has worked as a Health Coach and Nutritionist for many years and focuses on small sustainable steps with behavior change. She is very passionate about community health, health equity and social justice. Currently, she is pursuing her second Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health.
